Description

Our tree loppers are commercial grade pruning tools designed for making large cuts (up to 2" cuts). The fine hickory or aluminum alloy handles offer a cushioned response to the cutting action, and are available in a variety of lengths. Made in the USA, these tree loppers are made of the very highest quality, are as much as 30 percent lighter than comparable loppers, and are designed for professionals making thousands of cuts every season.

Options

  • Hickory Handles: The hickory handles are oval-shaped in the cross section to give a greater strength-to-weight ratio.
  • Aluminum Alloy Handles: The aircraft grade alloy steel heads and aluminum handles are the lightest available without sacrificing toughness or strength.
Length (inches)  Weight (lbs)
26" 2.42
28" 2.62
30' 2.74
32" 2.86
36" 3.04

Strength

By forging the lopping blade of top grade high-alloy steel, Hickok tools are stronger than other brands without the penalty of extra weight. We use an advanced computer controlled heat treating process, unique to Hickok and Vaca tools, to increase strength and durability.

Operation

The deep hook and strongly curved blade of Hickok loppers allow them to hold and slice through large branches with ease. Because these loppers are designed for continuous use on a daily basis, cutting efficiency is of the utmost importance. Our geometric design finely balances ease of cut without excessive arm movement for tireless operation.

Durability

Blades, hooks, center bolts, handles and bumpers are all designed to withstand the demands of professional use. Hickok polyurethane bumpers last considerably longer than bumpers of other brands. The high alloy blades hold an edge and resist wear, thus increasing blade life.

Warranty Information

Superior Fruit Equipment warrants to the original purchaser that the products we manufacture and sell are free from defects in material and workmanship for the useful life of the specific tool. Normal wear or incidental damage to the tool from use or maintenance is not covered. We reserve the option to repair or replace any product returned under warranty and only if, in our judgment, the product has not been misused or altered inappropriately.

The product must be returned to the factory freight prepaid with a copy of the original receipt or invoice and prior authorization from Superior Fruit Equipment. After inspection, repair or replacement, we will ship the product back freight by like method.

We will replace parts that have failed due to defects in materials or workmanship. We will not replace parts that have been abused or misused, including:

  • Blades filed razor thin with the factory cutting bevel removed
  • Aluminum handles bent from attempting to cut materials too hard or too large
  • Wood handles broken
  • Hook or blade tangs broken at the top of the handle

Extensive laboratory testing shows that when a lopper is subjected to excessive cutting force but the handles are kept in alignment, the blade/hook tang fails through the top bolt hole. This is a rare occurrence with the handles normally breaking (wood) or bending (aluminum) first. A tang broken above the top bolt hole indicates that side loading or twisting occurred and the resulting torque breakage is not covered by warranty.

Please contact us if you have any warranty questions.

    Hickok Lopping Pruners

Posted by Stan Praisewater on Aug 2nd 2021

My grandfather used these in his apricot orchard in the Santa Clara Valley of California for years. He had several sets. They had oak handles back then, but were excellent. I inherited them and used them myself for years. The oak handles would occasionally break. The aluminum handles make them better than ever.

    Tree loppers

Posted by Ron Robertson on Apr 28th 2021

Purchased the Hickok loppers because their made in USA, only used once so far on 3/4” branches. Quality seems good so far, not sure on how large of a branch they’ll handle yet. I would buy again.

    Well Made

Made in AMERICA, not China crap, very nice fit and finish, will last me forever, not self destruct as all China made inferior products do. Have already tried it on several very thick branches, no issues, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from this company again. Buy American, and tell China to go pound sand with their crap.
