Superior Fruit Equipment was established in February of 1995, when Wells & Wade Harvest Equipment was purchased from Jensen Byrd Co. Later in the summer, the Hickok Pruning Tool product line followed. Hickok Pruning Tools and Wells & Wade Picking Bags and Buckets are now once again, manufactured by the same company, at the same location in Wenatchee, Washington, USA.

The principals of Superior Fruit Equipment, Mike and Stan Simmons, have extensive backgrounds in design and manufacturing technology. Their expertise is helping to make Superior Fruit Equipment the leader in the Pruning Tool and Harvest Equipment industry. Working “hands-on” in the day to day manufacturing process insures that the highest quality products are continuously produced.

With the rapid growth of the company, it was necessary and possible to expand our management team. In April of this year jake Lodato joined the company in Sales and Marketing of the products of Superior Fruit Equipment. Living in the  Wenatchee Valley since 1976, surrounded by the fruit industry, he has several years of business experience in the fruit industry. Jake is driven to provide the best customer service to all of our customers.

At Superior Fruit Equipment, we do not use outside sales representatives to sell or service our products. We work closely with our distributors to better understand and react to your (their customers) needs. We sell all of our products through our distributors (some exceptions are made when we do not have a distributor in the area). This allows you to have local access to product, repair parts and service when needed. Therefore, we can concentrate all of our efforts on taking care of our distributors who sell directly to you.

We are striving to supply our distributors with more of the quality products that you use and need. In the future, we will be adding or acquiring complimentary product lines that fit with our company vision, “To manufacture/supply the highest quality products to the professional fruit industry.”

Currently, we are the warehouse distributor for ARS Pruning Tools, Fanno Saws and Plastic Cherry Buckets. We are also working with other manufacturers to represent their products as well.

The last year was a very busy year with our acquisition of the Wells & Wade Picking Bag and Bucket product lines in February, moving our manufacturing plant into a larger facility in April, manufacturing our new fruit clipper in August and expanding our management team in November. We strongly believe that all of these actions will help our company to be the leader in manufacturing and supplying quality products to the professional fruit industry.
